Date to collect keys for new home

Finally, HDB has given us a date to collect the keys to our new home! yippi -- 9th May 2011.

But strangely, after some jadespringers advice, the date suddenly appear in the website.... coincidence or really works? i think it works coz some jadespringers also done it!

Method: email your officer-in-charge, cc the sales customer service! it works for me !

HLE application finally approved!

Last week, after some Jade springers' information, i decided to check back the HDB website on the status and was shocked to know that we need to submit MORE information. And, somemore, there is no letter informing us. But after we knew the status from the HDB website, the letter also came. haha... seems like the website is faster indeed.

So we immediately sent the outstanding documents to HDB personnel. And after monitoring the status for days, finally there is a change of status! The current status is now:
HDB has processed your application. You will be receiving the HLE letter by mail.

:) heehe... finally it is approved and now, the next stage is to wait for the letter to collect our keys!!

Afternote: Many Jade springers mentioned that they called the HDB personnel, complained and then get the approval on the same day. I didn't want to do that as I believe in giving them some time and indeed they got it done. Although not immediately, but still satisfactory.

HLE status update

Yeah, today i checked the HDB website and it reflected:
We have received your application form and are currently processing your HLE application. We will inform you on the outcome of the application in due course.
Like my neighbours mentioned, it is indeed faster to send the HLE application through email!

Renovating our new home

We are going to the next stage, renovating our new home :)

Based on the experiences shared by my bro and colleagues whom got their new home, checking defects when the new house is handled to the owner is an important aspect not to be missed.
Although the interior design company that we engaged did mention that they will help us to check before they start renovation, (this is to safe guard themselves also), i feel that we should also be pro-active, basically to know what to check also... in case things are not really working.

So, i went to googling an found a website that listed all the defects that we should check!! And i realised one of my colleague, who just collected his new house and he is doing the defects checking himself, is also using the list from this website. Thus, i think we can use this as a guide too.

Here it is:

http://www.renotalk.com/main/Renovation/defects-checklist-1.pdf
http://www.renotalk.com/main/Renovation/defects-checklist-2.pdf

It is from renotalk, which is a forum discussing about renovation, so i think we can use it as a basic reference :)

Received HLE letter from HDB!

Yesterday, we received the letter from HDB to fill up the form for HLE.

nice :)
